Privacy policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
tamomoru.dev (the “provider”) explains below how information is handled in ShiftDIS, a Windows application. This policy applies to the current version of the ShiftDIS app.
ShiftDIS processes display information and your settings locally on your PC. It has no feature that automatically sends this information or your key activity to the provider’s servers.
1. Information used and its purpose
To detect and identify displays and switch their inputs, ShiftDIS obtains information from Windows and your displays, including display names, device identifiers, screen positions, supported inputs, and current inputs. This information is processed locally on your PC. Display names you assign, keyboard shortcuts, and your selected interface language are also used to provide the app’s features and restore your settings.
You do not need to register your name, email address, or similar personal details to use the app.
2. Keyboard shortcut handling
While the app is open, it processes Windows key events to recognize registered shortcuts. For shortcuts that combine multiple regular keys, the app temporarily handles key types and press/release states in memory, including while you use other apps. It does not record typed text or passwords as strings, save a history of key activity to files, or transmit it externally. Only the shortcut settings you register are saved.
3. Storage, retention, and protection
Settings such as display identifiers, custom names, target inputs, and shortcuts are stored on your PC until you change or delete them. The interface language is stored in Windows settings for your user account. The provider does not store these settings on a server.
The app does not apply its own encryption to settings files. Access protection depends on your Windows user account and file access permissions.
During display control operations, the app uses temporary files on your PC to pass display information and processing results between its components. These files are normally deleted when processing finishes. If files remain after an abnormal exit, the app attempts to delete eligible files after a certain period has elapsed when it next starts. During normal use, the app does not continuously record operation history or logs to files.
4. External transmission and sharing
The current version of ShiftDIS does not automatically send display information, settings, or key activity to the provider’s or third parties’ servers. The app contains no advertising or analytics features. It does not record your screen or take screenshots.
The provider does not automatically collect this in-app information to sell or share it. If you export information using diagnostic features or send files or images for support, review the contents and decide for yourself what to share. Diagnostic features do not send information automatically.
5. Reviewing, changing, and deleting information
You can review, change, or clear display names, target inputs, and shortcuts in the app. To remove all saved settings, close the app and delete the settings stored on your PC. Depending on how the app is distributed, settings may remain after uninstalling it.
Where settings are stored and how to delete them
Display settings are normally stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ShiftDIS\settings.json. Deleting this file causes the app to use its initial settings the next time it starts.
The interface language is stored separately under the Windows user registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ShiftDIS\ShiftDIS. If you also want to remove this setting but are unsure how, contact us using the link below. Depending on how the app is distributed, settings may remain after uninstalling it.
6. Website and contact
Opening a product or support link displays a website in your browser. The handling of cookies, analytics, and contact forms on the website is separate from the app’s processing and is governed by the information provided on that website. This policy does not mean that the website collects no data.
For questions about this policy or how information is handled in the app, use the TechTech Note contact form and mention ShiftDIS. Do not send passwords or other information unnecessary for your inquiry.
7. Changes to this policy
If the app’s features or information handling change, the provider will update this policy, publish it on this page, and change the last-updated date.
